Historic Family Hacienda: Preserved yet Updated 2 Bedrooms, a separate outside “Casita”, 1 and a half Baths plus a wonderful outside Garden Shower built in the traditional water reservoir, “Pila”. The very large garden, filled with flowers, herbs and fruit, surrounds an outdoor dining area. We have recently added a Pool. It was built in the late 1880s for a prominent La Paz family (Don Mario Castro and his wife, Dona Elisa Agramont de Castro, a much beloved schoolteacher in town). It is located in the town’s historic downtown district on what was the original main road into Todos Santos from La Paz. Calle Centenario has now become a residential street, just off the main thoroughfare. When first built and over a century to follow, this elegant family home was the first house that greeted travelers from La Pas. It also contained 2 small commercial shops, so that those arriving in town would stop here for groceries and sundries for their stay. It has 17 black palm beams, each 20 feet long, holding up its 14-foot-high ceilings of imported Cedar. Recently installed air conditioning supplements the traditional fans and the 18 inch to 2 foot walls. It is furnished with colonial antiques, contemporary supplements and artwork by some of Todos Santos’ most famous artists. It has a fun, rustic kitchen, equipped for the serious chef, with all the necessary tools and appliances. The owners have worked to preserve yet up-date the historic home, which is within walking distance of all the restaurants, shops and activities of central Todos Santos. It has been owned for over 20 years by a well-traveled San Francisco, CA family. They have recently begun to rent it to long-term visitors.* The pool man comes once a week and the gardener comes 2 times a week to water and tend to the landscape. *One month minimum Features & Amenities In Town: Todos Santos Neighborhood: Centro Sleeps: 6 (plus open-air sleeping for 2 more in a double bed under a net) Bedrooms: 2 inside bedrooms: the Master bedroom with king bed and an additional single bed.
